Beauty Kitchen

One of the brands that I have been lucky enough to encounter during this project, is Beauty Kitchen. Built on a solid foundation of "100% effective everyday luxury beauty products with a sprinkle of fun and big dollop of transparency", the brand is British (yay!), completely natural, and of course cruelty free.
It was founded in 2011 in Saltmarket, Glasgow, by Jo-Anne Chidley; a qualified herbal botanist and one of the youngest bee keepers in Scotland.

Jo-Anne noticed a gap in the market for natural products that are desirable and affordable, so she set out to make natural products that people would want to buy rather than felt they ought to buy.

And so Beauty Kitchen was born! The company makes 100% natural, effective and affordable products using local ingredients and pre-cycled or recycled packaging wherever possible. It is Jo-Anne's dream to create products that really make a difference. She created seven scents without using artificial fragrance but instead using high grade pure essential oils.

Working with Beauty Kitchen, I tried some of their amazing products; Inspire Me Brightening & Toning Bath Oil, Abyssinian Oil Aroma Facial Concentrate, and Abyssinian Oil Handbag Beauty Balm

And of course, a few words from Jo-Anne, the genius behind it all!

Beauty Kitchen's ethos in three words

Makes a Difference

Jo-Anne's perfect skincare routine

I like to keep my skincare routine simple and start by using the Abyssinian Oil Cleansing Balm which is great for melting away impurities or make up. I gently remove a damp konjac sponge - this combination really makes the skin feel clean without stripping. If I feel my skins needs a boost of moisture, I’ll apply a few drops of the Abyssinian Oil Aroma Facial Concentrate. This intensive oil deeply hydrates the skin giving it a healthy glow!

The desert island product

It has to be Abyssinian Oil Handbag Beauty Balm, I don't go anywhere without it! It smells amazing and can be used as a cleanser, moisturiser, lip balm, dry bits balm and can even be used to shape your eyebrows.

And finally - Jo-Anne's top tip for healthy skin

Always wear an SPF – I love Chantecailly Just Skin tinted moisturiser SPF15. Expensive but worth it!
