Delight Touch

I love meeting new cruelty free brands, it's so wonderful to speak with like-minded people who are working towards a world where no more bunnies need to suffer pointlessly.

Recently, I encountered Delight Touch - a UK based, organic and cruelty free brand run by Lou and Gee, a couple with an incredible story to share.
Gee had been told 15 years ago after having chronic back pain that he would need a walking stick and wheel chair within a few years, but after researching alternative therapies he made a full recovery with in 3 months. If that isn't enough reason to at least consider making some changes to natural products I don't know what is!

I spoke with Lou, who answered some questions for me. I also tried out their Organic Troubled Skin Cream, and Organic Willow Bark Cleanser.

What are the benefits of organic over mass produced high street products?

Where do I start?! I will give just two reasons though there are many.

Some mass produced non-organic brands are more than happy to put propylene glycol into their creams, this is used in anti freeze. It makes the skin feel softer to begin with, but does this by pulling the moisture from the lower level of your skin each time you use it. After a while you destroy your skin when there is no more moisture to suck to the upper level.

We also we believe in helping smaller businesses by keeping money in the real economy and not some big multi-national.

What has been your journey so far?

The j word... so far we have and will continue to have hard work to do, when you have a business and you have a young daughter who craves and needs your attention you have to balance things out. We really enjoy helping people who have troubled skin, though there can be many reasons such as food and drink intake which will need more attention than just a change of face cream. We love having success, with results from people feeling happier because their skin is smoother or some blemish has cleared up.

What are your beauty loves and hates?

We both are not big on beards. I love self tans - you can have one that gets results and is organic; it will cost a little more but you have to love your skin and your skin will love you right back.

How do you make your products?

We make our products by first deciding what we want to achieve; be it sensitive, dry, mature, oily or troubled skin.

Then we look at the base ingredient for all the vitamins, minerals, omega oils we will need. plus we are really big into adding herbal extracts to turbo charge our products. Then finally the scent which will also be with essential oils that aid the rejuvenation of the skin.

We only source the highest quality organic ingredients because we know that is how the product can have its full effect.

What's your perfect skincare regime?

A perfect skin regime for me is a simple cleans, tone & moisturise.

What does cruelty free mean to you?

We are cruelty free but have to admit being a little naive before with this as we didn't have this showing on our web site; the reason being we are purists. We eat organic, love a healthy lifestyle and make our own products only using the best ingredients.

We don't believe in any kind of harm or cruelty along the product process or ingredients, as we think this will have a negative effect on the end product. Plus we are about doing good to be good. We know this but other people researching who to shop with don't unless you make the statement clear.
